The Deka Bank, one of the leading asset managers and financial service providers in Europe, has put up a new building for the administration and board of managing directors in Luxembourg. The planning for the big conference room in particular involved a maximum of flexibility and functionality for all applications that can occur. Thus at this early stage it was clear that only wireless components could be used for the discussion system, microphones and media control system. The core of the boardroom consists of a media wall which includes a backprojector, control and audio components.
The wireless MCW-Digital discussion system from beyerdynamic is used with 20 microphone units for big meetings and discussions to transmit the signals within the 2.4 GHz band free from any interferences and safe against unauthorised listening. The plenum has been also complemented with four Opus 500 microphones for lectures. The maximum amount of flexibility is achieved by using a wireless ViewPoint touch screen from AMX to operate all audio-visual components in addition to a wired 10” touch screen. Interferences which could occur with wireless components are eliminated due to the properly timed and tuned use of all wireless audio and control components. The control unit combines the whole audio-visual equipment to facilitate the operation considerably and with the two touch screens the user can control a presentation or discussion. To complete the system, the EIB (European Installation Bus) connection allows to control the dimming or the lighting.
Furthermore, the service technician can access an online control page in the intranet via each PC to control or monitor each device from every office in the building, if necessary. For the most diverse applications the big conference room can be changed within a few minutes – not only by qualified personnel.
